All I want to manifest is ice cream

I was talking to my meditation group the other day about manifesting. "I couldn't do that" was the surprisingly general response. There were many comments including "I don't believe you can just wish for something and just get it".

Hmm, ok, I thought, it’s time for a ‘you absolutely can manifest the life you want’ conversation.

Regardless of whether your goals are big or small, life changing or life enhancing, any form of positive thinking can harness the power of the universe to transform your thoughts into reality. This is something anyone can practice, and to an extent, whether we know it or not, we already do.

Think about it. Have you ever consciously wished there would be a parking space when you get to the store? That it wouldn't rain until your washing was dry? That the kids, just for tonight, won't try to kill each other while you're cooking dinner? Yep you got it. That’s a form of manifesting and for it to work all we’ve got to do is have a little faith.

I believe that underneath we are all insanely optimistic; even if we say we're not, even if we think we expect the worst, we all have, deep down, a little flicker that tells us THIS time it's all going to be alright. It's this flicker, this spark of something buried deep below our consciousness that energetically attracts what we believe on some level can happen.

A small example was a friend that used to cancel over 90% of the plans we made together. It didn't stop me making them because when we did meet up we always had fun and even though I would say "I am supposed to be meeting Amy today but she will probably let me down" there must have been a part of me, that optimistic, refuse to give up part of me, that always hoped this time would be different. When I looked at what I was putting out there energetically I decided that I could change, even if she couldn't. The next time we had plans I aligned my conscious and my subconscious. I didn't plan a fall-back evening meal for me (I absolutelywas having lunch with Amy), and you know what? I did.

Following our discussion one of my meditation group gave it a go. She felt too materialistic asking for something big so she focused on ice cream. When her groceries were delivered a few days later there was a complimentary trial tub of Ben and Jerry's, go figure.

Skeptical? Wanna try? Follow these easy steps and let me know how you get on.

Be positive. Put your attention on positive concepts only. Approach with an open heart, as well as an open mind.

Write down your goals. Be clear on what you want (and don’t want). For example you may want a new house, but picture how you want that to happen. You don’t want to be suddenly flooded or hit by an earthquake and forced to move!

Express as the present. Word everything as if it is already happen. If you are wishing for things in the future, they will forever remain in the future. i.e. change “I want a new job”, to “I have a new job that I love”. You can keep a reality journal where you list everything you want as if it is currently happening. That will also help with the step above. Two birds, one stone, what’s not to love?

Meditate on it. Once in your meditative state and relaxed you can start bringing in what you want to manifest. Then play around with imagining it. Where are you? Who are you with? What is happening? How do you feel? Make it as real as you can.

Trust. You don’t need to engineer scenarios or avoid situations to try to make it fit. Have a little faith. Let the Universe do its own thing while you do yours.

Believe. If it’s not happening it’s probably because you don’t believe it can. Move your mind out of the way and let it happen.
